e-ticket means the train ticket that booked Online of house to go information newsstand etc without at railway counter. It has same validity when ticket issued of railway ticket booking counter. But an E rail ticket passenger must have an identity card required during its trip.
Needs for railway ticket booking:
Registration with www.irctc.co.in and valid User name and Password
Valid e-mail ID address with any domain. like yahoo,gmail,hotmail....
Internet connection with Personal Computer (PC)
Bank Account (with ATM cum Debit Card or Internet Banking facility or Credit Card) with any bank.
ID Proof require:
Voter Identity Card
Passport
Driving License
Photo I/d card of Central/ State Government
Pan Card
How to book e-Rail Ticket Booking :
1. Register with IRCTC.
2. Log onto railway website www.irctc.co.in and click on SIGN UP menu
3.After sighnup you will get username and password.
4.Login with your username and password to the website www.irctc.co.in
5.Enter the name of starting station and ending station and select the code from drop down box.
6.select journey details of class and date of journey.(2nd Ac or 3rd Ac or sleeper)
7.click the box of eticket. if you want to book tatkal is also available.
8.click find on train menu it will appear list of trains.
9.select the train to your sheduled and then click on availability menu to check the seats are avail or not.
10.If your require seats are avail then click book ticket menu.
11.Enter the details like name,age,sex, etc and then click GO button at the below.
12.After that the ticket details will appear on screen check that if its correct clikc the make payment button.
13.select your bank details or credit card details after that train ticket will appear take the printout of the ticket.
14.you will get the sms and email notification about your train ticket booking with details of PNR status etc.
As the online process of reservation charges a processing amount that is the only draw backs up itself. Nevertheless when in comparison of its advantages, disabilities are negligible.
