For the advantage of passengers that must plan their trip to the last moment and cannot obtain reserved arrangement, the Indian railways furnish "Tatkal" to reserve the ease on the basis "first arrival, first served" with a payment of premium charges.

1.Tatkal books can be booked (E-tickets only) one days in advance.  (closing the date of the trip out of)
